🖤✊🏾 Black History Month is more than just a celebration—it’s a call to action!
We are the embodiment of resilience, love, and strength. Our histories are rich, our identities powerful, and our voices matter. This month and every month, we celebrate the beauty of being Black, LGBTQ+, and immigrant — and the strength that comes from embracing all of who we are.
Black LGBTQI+ lives matter—yesterday, today, and always.
"Black History Month reminds us that every color, every identity, every truth shines bright. To our Black trans community: your brilliance, resilience, and joy rewrite history—because you matter, always."
Black trans history is Black history. We have always existed, resisted, and paved the way for liberation. This month and every month, we honor the strength, brilliance, and resilience of Black trans ancestors and leaders.

We recognize the challenges immigrants face in accessing social services, especially in a bustling city like New York, we provide direct support to help them navigate the complexities of the city. This includes guidance on accessing essential social services tailored to their needs and facilitating referrals for legal support when necessary. By addressing these multifaceted needs, our program endeavors to empower Black LGBTQI+ immigrants, ensuring they receive the necessary support to navigate their legal journey successfully.

We are dedicated to advocating for their release from detention facilities, ensuring that their immigration proceedings continue in environments that are both humane and secure, free from the harsh conditions often associated with detention facilities.
Recognizing the often prolonged and arduous nature of the immigration process, we offer various forms of support to those affected. One such form of support is our Pen Pal program, through which individuals can correspond with volunteers outside of the detention center. This allows detainees to maintain connections with the outside world and receive messages of encouragement and solidarity, reminding them that they are not alone in their struggle.
Furthermore, we facilitate Video Visits, providing detainees with the opportunity to virtually connect with loved ones and supporters. These visits serve as a lifeline, offering emotional support and reassurance during what can be an isolating and challenging period of waiting.
In essence, our program aims to provide practical assistance and emotional support to detained Black LGBQI+ immigrants, ensuring that they feel supported and empowered.

Our Community Impact Program is designed to uplift Black LGBTQI+ immigrants who have been released from immigration detention or are at risk of entering the system. Our primary aim is to empower these individuals through education about their rights, emphasizing the importance of discerning when to assert those rights and when to exercise caution. We provide support to help navigate complex immigration processes and offer resources that promote self-advocacy and resilience.
Furthermore, we are committed to advocating against policies that are unfriendly to immigrants by fostering community unity through various channels such as online activism, dissemination of printed materials, and strategic collaboration with allied organizations. Through these efforts, we strive to create a supportive and informed environment for individuals navigating immigration, ensuring that they are aware of their rights and have access to the resources they need.

The Healing Justice Impact Program is a transformative initiative dedicated to addressing the lasting effects of trauma, systemic oppression, and burnout within the Black LGBTQI+ immigrant community. Through culturally affirming healing spaces, community-centered wellness practices, and accessible mental health resources, this program fosters collective care, resilience, and empowerment.
Many in our communities experience emotional and mental exhaustion due to discrimination, displacement, and systemic barriers to care. The loss of ancestral healing traditions, the isolation of community healers, and the privatization of wellness resources have made it difficult to access trusted and culturally competent support. Traditional systems often fail to meet our needs, leaving many disconnected from the healing they deserve.
The Healing Justice Impact Program ensures that accessible, community-driven, and culturally affirming support is available beyond borders. Our approach includes:
🔹 Virtual Wellness Circles – Facilitated peer support groups focused on emotional well-being, stress relief, and collective healing.
🔹 Online Healing Workshops – Interactive sessions led by practitioners in mindfulness, breathwork, ancestral healing, and other holistic practices.
🔹 Mental Health Support Resources – Culturally competent referrals, virtual one-on-one consultations, and guided self-care strategies.
🔹 Empowering Community Healers – A platform for traditional healers and wellness practitioners to share knowledge, connect, and provide support.
🔹 Healing Without Barriers – Ensuring that support is available outside of state and private systems that often exclude or marginalize our communities.
Healing is not just an individual journey—it is a collective movement. Through this program, we reclaim wellness, strengthen community bonds, and build sustainable networks of care that uplift and empower.
